Calama and Alto El Loa have 115 new graduates in the program for women entrepreneurs “DreamBuilder” of Minera El Abra

The first in-person graduation since the pandemic brought together 115 entrepreneurs from Calama and Alto El Loa, Chile, who completed the DreamBuilder program of Minera El Abra. All these graduates took the free online modules of this program, which seeks to provide essential tools to women who have a business idea or want to consolidate their entrepreneurship. 

In the Province of El Loa and Alto El Loa, more than 770 people have finished the DreamBuilder program in the last decade. On this occasion, the first 10 graduates from the town of Caspana stood out, such as the case of graduate Cecilia Colamar, who has a hospitality and food venture named “CKolamtur.”  

“I learned to improve and create a business plan, to look for new marketing strategies, and got the motivation to move forward through the experiences of other entrepreneurs shared in the program,” said Colamar.   

Colombia native, Diane Valencia, is dedicated to creating coconut-based products and ensures that DreamBuilder guided her in the formation of her business. “It gave me the motivation to keep going and allowed me to start my business. The videos of women fighters it offers are inspiring, and I am grateful for the support and the knowledge because there are bases that I did not know.”  

For Reyna Calle, recovering plastic waste is her main focus and this program has given her the opportunity to establish networks. “I traveled to the DreamBuilder national meeting in Santiago where they reinforced the tool of believing in oneself, because one may want to start their entrepreneurship, but there is always something inside, the internal confidence to say yes you can achieve things.”  

Strategic partners in the execution and coordination of the DreamBuilder program in the region were present at the graduation ceremony, such as the Illustrious Municipality of Calama, with the Culture and Tourism Corporation and the Productive Development Unit, SernamEG Calama, Prodemu Antofagasta Region Foundation, Inacap and the Sercotec Calama Business Center.  

DreamBuilder was born with the objective of promoting women’s economic development by providing them with the necessary tools for their labor independence and professional development.
